Louise joined lively “Small Firms/Global Reach” panel at AIANY
October 21st, 2013
Louise really enjoyed participating in a Pecha Kucha roundtable discussion, moderated by Cathleen McGuigan, Editor-in-Chief, Architectural Record, about small firms going global. Nine New York-based architects got together at the AIANY Center for Architecture to talk about the intersection of their small practices with work that takes them around the globe. The conversation highlighted the resourcefulness and flexibility of small firms as well as the complexity of global/local relations in far away places.

Louise invited as guest critic to review Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student designs for our upcoming museum project
May 10th, 2012
Louise was delighted to join Rachel Lawe, Director of the International Collage Center, noted collage artist, Michael Oatman and his Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute architectural students for their spring final design jury. This event was particularly noteworthy because the project was to plan the new International Collage Center Museum which our firm will be designing in the near future. The insightful designs were, in part, a result of a recent student field trip to the museum site in Milton, Pennsylvania, where Louise, Rachel and Pavel Zoubok, the inspiration behind the new museum, discussed how the intersection of collage and architecture will define the project.

Louise discusses “Universal Design in Museums” with museum professionals at the Greater Hudson Heritage Network Annual Meeting at the West Point Museum
October 14th, 2011
Louise lectured about our experience designing and building the Derfner Judaica Museum as a prototype for creating inclusive public spaces for our current and future elderly. There is no time like the present to address issues of universal design because of the surge in the elderly population of the advancing baby boom generation. Boomers want sophisticated "more than accessible" cultural institutions. This is we, as architects, must provide.
