Recognizing that ethically valid architecture must provide for both the individual and the community, we tap our artistic impulse to create architecture that encourages public participation. In order to achieve artistic results on the tight budgets typical of the public sector, our office is a laboratory of inventive ideas that reflect our culture today. We add architectural value to all of our projects by building sustainably.

A graduate of the Yale School of Architecture, Louise Braverman established her namesake practice in 1991. Her work has been widely published and recognized by her peers, resulting in her early selection as an Architectural League’s Emerging Voice and elevation to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects. She regularly contributes to the field by serving on design award juries, including the 2023 Frame Awards Grand Jury, the  2022 SARA/NY Design Awards, the 2017 AIA Chicago Design Awards, the 2016 and 2012 Chicago Athenaeum GOOD DESIGN Awards, the 2016 Fellowship for the Civita Institute, and the 2014 AIA National Housing Awards. Recently, she was invited to present the work of the firm at the 2023, 2021, 2018, 2016, 2014, and 2012 Venice Biennales of Architecture, at both international exhibits as well as at the United States Pavilion. She was also invited to express how Venice amplifies her artistic impulse in her essay for JoAnn Locktov’s 2016 book, Dream of Venice Architecture.

Louise has lectured about her architectural perspective both nationally and internationally at a variety of prestigious institutions. Recently, she spoke at The National Arts Club in New York City, the ETH Zurich Seven Questions Curatorial, and at the Iowa AIA Convention where she gave a keynote address. She has also discussed our work at Columbia GSAPP, Parsons School of Design, The Plan Magazine Perspective USA Lectures, Yale School of Architecture, Yale Club, CUNY, the Cosmopolitan Club, AIA New York Chapter, Chicago Archeworks, Ryerson School of Architecture in Toronto and International UIA Istanbul Congress in Turkey.

Louise consistently supports programs that foster inclusion and mentorship in the field by participating in such diverse panels and programs as the 2018 Venice Voices of Women Architects, the 2015 An Inclusive Edge panel at the Chicago Architecture Biennale, the 2014 Principled Design panel at Art Basel Miami, and the 2014 video, Voices from Venice. She was delighted to have her words included in the 2022 bestseller, The Epic Mentor Guide where she could speak directly to young women contemplating entering the field of architecture.
